Description

We are looking for people who are passionate about empowering developers with AI tools that will innovate the developer experience at Slack! The Developer Experience(DevXP) AI team enables the engineering organization with AI powered solutions that reach all aspects of the development lifecycle.

As a DevXP engineer, you like building developer workflow tools and work toward making overall development better. You excel in leading others and derive joy from mentoring and growing other engineers. You set a high bar for the technical design and code quality of your team. You demonstrate exceptional ownership of not only the area of your team, but across Slack’s entire codebase. You have a “can do” demeanor and nothing is beneath you or outside your responsibilities because you do what it takes to deliver the highest quality code and the most impactful features. You are self-directed, innovative, and biased towards action in fast-paced environments. You love to build new things, adeptly navigate ambiguity, and treat failure as an opportunity for learning.

What You Should Have:

  • 10+ years of experience building and maintaining complex software

  • Experience using AI development tools and frameworks like Claude Code, Cursor, LangChain, LangGraph, etc..

  • Ability to monitor and improve KPIs

  • Expertise in AWS cloud infrastructure and services

  • Deep familiarity with the developer productivity metrics tracking and improvement, IDE ecosystems and extensions

  • Code analysis tools and techniques

  • A related technical degree required


Bonus Points

  • Experience using Slack and a keen interest in making it better

  • Track record of championing AI powered development practices at an organizational level.

  • Specific experience working within the Developer Experience space or a Platform team.
