Taking the leap to relocate isn’t just about packing your bags — it’s about stepping into the unknown and opening doors to limitless opportunities. While many dream of a fresh start in a new city, few dare to make it a reality. But those who do are often rewarded with personal growth, unique experiences, and the chance to reinvent their careers. It’s a bold move, but one that could redefine your future in the era of agentic AI.
If you’re on the fence about taking your career to a new city, you don’t have to make this decision alone. We recently sat down with two Salesforce employees from our sales teams who relocated to Dublin to help you gain clarity.
Meet Synne and Pelle: two Salesblazers who made the courageous decision to embrace a new chapter of their lives in the vibrant multi-cultural city of Dublin, Ireland. What started as a professional opportunity working for the world's #1 agent-first enterprise, soon turned into a life-changing adventure, helping them grow in ways they never imagined. Through this journey, they evolved not only in their careers but also personally, discovering strengths and skills they didn't know they had.
Let their stories and insights inspire you to step out of your comfort zone and embrace new opportunities for growth in the most exciting era of Salesforce history. Synne and Pelle are living proof of how far you can go when you put your mind to it and embrace new challenges. The possibilities are limitless when you push beyond familiar boundaries and fully dedicate yourself to professional and personal transformation.
Synne is an Account Executive from Norway. In her early years, she focused on building her career in her home country, but her family encouraged her to explore new places. Taking their advice, she discovered her love for expat life in Rome while studying for her master's degree in Strategic Marketing Management. Having had such a successful journey, she wasn’t ready to return home, so she continued her professional growth on the Emerald Isle (aka Ireland) to further her international sales career at the Salesforce EMEA HQ in Dublin. After growing her career for several years in Ireland, she recently returned to Oslo, Norway, where she continues to thrive in the sales world at Salesforce.
In her free time, Synne enjoyed exploring Dublin's vibrant cultural scene, and outdoor adventures by hiking in the beautiful Irish countryside.
Pelle is a Business Development Representative from Sweden. After completing his master's degree in the Netherlands, focused on strategic management, he decided to pivot into tech sales and relocated to Ireland to join the Salesforce team. Since moving, Pelle has embraced new experiences, trying golf and surfing for the first time, along with enjoying sea swimming and hiking.
Pelle and Synne’s decision to move abroad brought them the rewards of stepping outside one’s comfort zone and discovering and exploring new passions. Now, it’s time to reflect on some key questions, with insights from two people who have lived through it.
Are you excited to grow your career in Dublin?

Picture your life in a new country: Can you imagine discovering all the new connections, places, and things you can learn? The opportunities are unlimited. Taking that first step can be scary, but if the thought of it fills you with excitement, this could be the opportunity for you.
Synne started her relocation little by little, making Dublin her final destination.
“Moving to Dublin and working for a global company, like Salesforce, opens many doors. You gain international experience and meet people from various cultures. When I was younger, I didn't want to move away from home; it was not even up for discussion. However, my parents always encouraged me to explore the world and meet new people. Step by step, I started to take their advice. A short flight for my bachelor's degree to Trondheim, Norway, and then, a longer flight for my master's degree to Rome, Italy.”
And that was just the start for Synne.
“When I finished my studies, I wasn’t ready to move home. Having the opportunity to live abroad is a blessing, and I have yet to meet anyone who has regretted it. It can be scary in the beginning, but you gain so much from the experience. When Salesforce offered me to move to Dublin, I said yes immediately because I knew that an international career could open a world of opportunities in the future. Dublin is a tech hub that attracts so many people from across the globe, especially Europe. You learn so much about yourself and others and you also grow your network across countries.”

Are you open to new challenges and opportunities?
New decisions come with new challenges and opportunities. Some you can predict, while others take you by surprise, adding a touch of adventure to your journey. Whether you’re a seasoned traveller or taking your first steps into a new world, resilience is key to thriving in an unfamiliar environment.
Pelle shares some obstacles he faced when he left Sweden:

“After relocating, I quickly learned that unexpected challenges arise, even with preparation. Adapting to the fast-paced tech scene was more complex than anticipated, pushing me to become more agile and proactive. Living abroad has opened doors I wouldn’t have had if I stayed in Sweden. Being in Dublin, a global tech hub, means being surrounded by opportunities—networking with people from around the world or getting involved in cutting-edge projects. Each week feels like you’re at the centre of something new and exciting.”
The distance from home motivated Pelle to foster new connections and relationships.
“Being away from my support network was also challenging, motivating me to build new relationships. I immersed myself in the local community, creating a supportive network. These challenges—whether it was the fast-paced environment, or building a new support system—became lessons that helped me grow beyond my comfort zone.
"In Dublin, I’ve had the chance to collaborate with diverse colleagues, learn from different perspectives, and tackle challenges on a larger scale. The exposure to global markets has been eye-opening and has accelerated my professional growth.”

When relocating for a role at Salesforce, you’ll not only get to experience new realities of life— figuring out local transit and the best restaurants — you’ll also get the opportunity to experience the newest technology: Agentforce. Salesforce is leading the world through the evolution of AI, and Pelle and Synne have experienced the once-in-a-lifetime shift as artificial intelligence has gone from being exclusive, only for the biggest players, to being necessary for every business to succeed. Pelle shares:
“Agentforce brings the power of AI agents into CRM, automating workflows, enhancing efficiency, and allowing my team to focus on relationships instead of manual tasks.”
Salesforce has ensured that all employees are ready for this transformation in technology by providing a wealth of training and resources, including adding our very own Agentforce for Sales agents into their daily toolkit.
Are you passionate about exploring new cultures and experiences?

At Salesforce, we take pride in the culture that thrives within our offices. With employees from over 100 nationalities across our offices worldwide, Salesforce is a truly international space. When you join our EMEA headquarters in Dublin you are not alone. You’re stepping into a community that understands the challenges and rewards of relocating. A large portion of Salesforce Dublin employees have taken the same step and are here to share it with you.
That international community in Dublin has helped Synne sharpen her selling skills.
“I have learned that, in general, there are so many cultural differences, both inside and outside the office. Working hands-on with various markets sharpens your communication and interpersonal skills, making you more adaptable.
Being part of a global environment allows you to see how different markets operate—it can be the difference between winning or losing a deal. I couldn’t have imagined how much I’d learn before joining this international workplace at Salesforce.”
While also enabling Synne to explore new cultures and communities outside the office.
“Dublin itself has so much to offer. Staying in your comfort zone might feel safe, but it means missing out on countless new experiences. If you had asked my parents back in the day, they would’ve bet I’d never leave my hometown in Norway. But I’m forever grateful that they encouraged me to take this leap. I’ve gained so much, both personally and professionally. I have yet to meet anyone who regrets moving abroad—it’s a chance for growth in every aspect of life.”

Do you enjoy building new connections and networks?

Whether you're a social butterfly or more of an introvert, building new connections is key when starting in a new country. At Salesforce, we’re committed to fostering a more inclusive and connected community through our Equality Groups. These groups bring together individuals who share similar backgrounds, experiences, and interests, as well as allies who embrace shared values and goals. They are a great way to feel part of a community while you settle into your new environment.
Here’s how Pelle made new connections in his new home in Dublin:
“I embraced the “say yes to everything” mindset—whether it was pub nights, random social meetups, or joining a local tennis group (despite not being great at tennis). Dublin’s social scene is incredibly open and welcoming, and I found that people are eager to include newcomers. The key was stepping outside my comfort zone and putting myself out there, even when it felt a bit awkward at first. I have started engaging with every possible sport that I can think of. Since coming to Dublin, I have started golfing, surfing, hiking, biking, tennis, winter swimming, and more!“
He also made sure to immerse himself in the Salesforce Dublin community.
“Professionally, I learned to view every colleague as someone with something valuable to teach me. Start by engaging with people within your organisation, and when you feel more comfortable reach out for coffee chats with people outside your immediate circle.”
