Kenneth's story is one of transformation — not just his own, but the transformation he helps public sector organizations achieve every day. From starting as a Business Development Representative (BDR) to becoming a Director of Sales Development, Kenneth (known by his team as Kenny) has spent seven years at Salesforce redefining what’s possible for sellers and customers alike.

“Public sector sales isn’t just about closing deals,” Kenny shares. “It’s about empowering agencies to deliver better outcomes for citizens, faster and more effectively. That’s where Salesforce shines.”

A Journey Built on Growth

Kenny’s path to Salesforce began with a unique blend of technical expertise and a passion for selling. Before joining Salesforce in 2017, he worked in higher education as a Salesforce administrator, leveraging the platform to streamline nonprofit operations. “When I joined Salesforce, it was a natural next step,” Kenny recalls. “As a BDR, I gained foundational enterprise software selling skills that have shaped every role I’ve taken since.”


From there, Kenny transitioned into an Account Executive role before rising to leadership – and he didn’t hesitate to take advantage of the opportunities for sellers that Salesforce provides. His journey highlights the opportunities Salesforce provides to grow and thrive.

His efforts were rewarded, Kenny says. “Every role I’ve taken has been a step toward something bigger. That’s the beauty of Salesforce — you’re always building toward what’s next.”

Kenny’s journey includes playing an active role as the Washington D.C. co-lead of Outforce, Salesforce’s Equality group that brings together employees who are both members of and allies to the LGBTQ+ community.. “Outforce supports all of our initiatives related to Pride locally, as well as all our service learning and educational programming for the LGBTQ+ community.” This leadership role has also helped Kenny grow: “Leading an Equality group has allowed me ample opportunities for large-scale event planning, project delegation, and public speaking, which has nicely rounded out my development as a Salesforce people leader.”

Driving Change with AI in Public Sector Sales

Today, Kenny leads teams in one of the most dynamic moments in Salesforce’s history: the AI era. Tools like Agentforce and Einstein are helping public sector clients do more with less, addressing the unique challenges of government agencies.

“Our public sector customers are balancing budgets while meeting the demands of digital-native citizens,” Kenny explains. “Agentforce allows them to scale services, improve accuracy, and deliver faster results—all while staying mission-focused.”

Kenny’s team uses AI not just to sell but to simplify their workflows. “From summarizing call notes to crafting targeted emails, AI tools have transformed our productivity,” he shares.

Advice for Mid-Career Sellers

  • Stay curious: “AI is reshaping the industry. The more you embrace it, the more successful you’ll be.”
  • Focus on impact: “Public sector sales is about solving real-world problems. When you focus on the mission, the results will follow.”
  • Leverage the tools: “Salesforce provides everything you need to grow — use it.”
