When Kamran Ahmed was in school, like many people, he faced pressure to go to university. When he stumbled across the Salesforce Sales Apprenticeship, he knew that it would be the perfect fit to leverage his interpersonal skills and let him interact with people. “The role was a perfect fit-dynamic, engaging, and in a high-energy environment. I applied, put everything I had into the interview process, and was overjoyed when I received the offer. This apprenticeship was the perfect opportunity for me to grow and excel.”
This is echoed by James Cornell, who, like many other students, had a lot on his mind about what he should do after the year was over and faced a similar pressure to go to university. “I knew I wanted to do a role where I could engage with people consistently and make use of my interpersonal skills and it took a few months, but I came across Salesforce and their Sales Apprenticeships. A role where I can change with people and develop my skills in a high-productivity environment. It looked perfect. I applied and gave my all in the interview process, and luckily for me, my efforts were recognised, and I landed the perfect apprenticeship for me.”
Both James and Kamran joined the Salesforce Sales Apprenticeship in 2022 and they’ve never looked back.
James is now a Sales Development Representative (SDR), where he utilises the knowledge and skills that he developed in his apprenticeship to engage with customers, understand their needs, and create the best possible solution for them. One of James’s biggest achievements was a deal that he sourced recently closing, generating over £10,000.
As an SDR at Salesforce, Kamran applies the skills and knowledge from his apprenticeship to engage with customers, identify their needs, and offer tailored solutions. Some of his favourite parts of the role include being able to work in a collaborative environment: “The team culture is incredibly supportive, ensuring that no one feels lost or overwhelmed. It's a great place to learn and excel in our roles.” Kamran has worked on projects that have included deals generating over £60,000.
After completing their apprenticeships and securing their roles on the Salesforce Sales Development team, they have made the move to Dublin to continue growing their Sales careers.
For James, moving to Dublin was an eye-opening experience. Although initially adjusting to living in a new country had its challenges, James quickly adapted by reaching out to new people and using his networking skills to form new friendships.
Kamran's move to Dublin really took him out of his comfort zone and required him to adapt quickly to grow a community in Ireland. When he looks back, he describes the experience as helping him to improve as a person and become more independent.
Spending time in the Salesforce Dublin Tower also has its perks, Kamran describes, “It’s spacious with a mix of open-plan areas and quiet spots for when I need to focus. They keep us well-stocked with drinks and snacks. And when it's time to recharge or take a break, there's always the option to unwind with a game of ping-pong or American pool. It’s a setup that strikes a good balance between work and relaxation, making it a comfortable place to be productive.” 🇮🇪
Now, both of them are excelling in their careers, and they encourage future apprentices to consider pursuing a career in Salesforce Sales in Dublin.
James 🔈- “I would absolutely encourage others to consider making the move. It’s a fantastic opportunity to challenge yourself, gain independence, and explore a vibrant city like Dublin. Being able to travel back to visit family in the UK regularly has been convenient and affordable since it’s only an hour's flight away.”
Kamran 🔈- “I would recommend others to make the move as it helps you grow as a person and gain that bit of independence you need. The trip back to the UK to see family is very cheap and easy, I go back once a month utilising my Geoflex days, allowing me to gain that experience of living alone while still keeping a connection to my friends and family“
