At Salesforce, we believe that business can be the greatest platform for change, and that includes protecting our planet. Our Commitment: Sustainability as a Core Value

We consider the planet a key stakeholder in our business and are focused on creating a net zero, nature-positive world. This commitment is embedded across our operations, from maintaining 100% renewable energy for our global facilities to embedding sustainability into our supplier relationships.
We believe in transparency and track our progress diligently. Our annual Stakeholder Impact Report details our efforts towards our climate goals, including reducing emissions across our value chain and supporting ecosystem restoration. It's about integrating sustainability into everything we do using our technology like Net Zero Cloud to help ourselves and our customers achieve environmental goals.
Earthforce: Empowering Employees to Act
At Salesforce, we believe that the earth is our biggest stakeholder. That’s why sustainability is a core value, guiding everything from how we build our towers to how we build sustainable use policies into our AI products.
Championing sustainability alongside our corporate initiatives are our passionate employees who channel their efforts through Earthforce, our dedicated employee resource group for those who actively promote and celebrate environmental responsibility, education, and impact at Salesforce. This global community boasts over 15,800 members across 39 locations.
Just last year, Earthforce members volunteered an impressive 23,693 hours during 392 Volunteer Time Off (VTO) events globally. These events range from local cleanups to educational workshops, making a real impact in the communities where we live and work.

Getting involved with Earthforce offers employees around the world opportunities to make a difference for our planet. This Earth Month alone, our dedicated members rolled up their sleeves for hands-on environmental action, hosting over 20 volunteering activities both virtually and onsite. From planting trees and cleaning up local parks to participating in educational sessions about climate change, there was activity for every interest.
"Earthforce champions sustainability at Salesforce by fostering awareness and facilitating hands-on engagement," said Brian Kearney, Earthforce President. "We connect employees, customers, and partners to drive positive environmental impact in our communities and amplify our collective efforts."
Making a Difference: Agentforce for Climate Change
Through our pro bono programs, employees are using their skills to drive change, creating powerful ripple effects for their careers, communities, and the planet. This often creates a powerful intersection between career development and climate action, as Salesforce' Solution Engineer Marissa discovered.
Marissa is a star volunteer in our Agents for Impact Accelerator program. She worked as the Ppro bono Project Manager for Good360, helping them build an agent that supports disaster response by matching donations with communities in need.
"The AI for Impact pro bono program enabled me to get hands-on with Salesforce’s cutting-edge generative AI solutions alongside a nonprofit organization," Marissa explained. "It allowed me to rapidly level up my Agentforce technical skills, expand my network, and enhance my ability to craft a vision for customers and share how Agentforce can solve their challenges and drive their impact."
The personal significance of this work is profound. "Nonprofit and pro bono customer, Good360, is a critical partner in climate mitigation, diverting over 16,000 truckloads per year from our landfills and into the hands of disaster-affected families," Marissa shared. We built out an AI and data strategy and now they are leveraging their agent to get closer to their climate goals. It is an honor to see our partnership go from vision to reality."
At Salesforce, we’re proud to empower employees like Marissa to turn their talents into transformative change — through programs like Volunteer Time Off and pro bono work, Marissa contributes meaningfully to climate solutions while also growing her career, helping to build a more sustainable future for all.
