February 10, 2025
There’s never been a more exciting time to work at Salesforce, the #1 agent-first enterprise, and help shape the future of work through groundbreaking digital labor tools like Agentforce. While we've been busy reinventing the world of work as you know it, we haven't lost sight of what makes Salesforce so successful: our people. We're committed to ensuring our teams have all they need to succeed both at work and home through extensive employee benefits.
Research shows that today’s working parents view work-life balance benefits as a dealbreaker—so much so that many are hitting pause on growing their families until they find a company that has family planning benefits top of mind. Let’s dig into some of the top parent-specific benefits available to Salesforce employees, their loved ones, and the newest members of their families.
Parental Leave
At Salesforce, we understand how critical the first moments are to bond with a new baby. We nurture that invaluable quality time by providing our employees with ample time off to enjoy those first moments, fully paid. For example, in the U.S.*, primary caregivers get 26 weeks of paid time off while secondary caregivers receive 12 weeks. While on leave, employees continue to receive 100% of their base salary, or 80% of on-target earnings — whichever is the greater amount.

“Being afforded the ability to take parental leave allowed me to be fully present for my growing family. I felt exceptionally supported and encouraged to take advantage of the incredible parental benefits and focus on this incredible milestone in my life.” - Dinakaran, Software Engineering MTS, Singapore
To minimize the stress of returning to work after welcoming a new family member, Salesforce slowly reacclimates new parents back to work with our Gradual Return to Work Program, giving parents the flexibility to work a four-day week throughout their first month back.

Fertility, Adoption, and Surrogacy

Considering adoption or surrogacy? The Salesforce Global Fertility and Adoption program helps offset the costs of bringing a new child into the family. With Carrot, a leading global fertility and family-building platform, employees around the globe get access to personalized fertility care catered to their culture, language, currency and payment option(s).
Employees and their spouse or domestic partner are covered to be reimbursed for up to $40,000 USD for eligible surrogacy or child adoption expenses. If both partners work at Salesforce, they can each can receive this benefit.
Every family is unique, and we offer a range of options to support the various paths to becoming a parent. At Salesforce, our U.S. employees have access to Progyny’s Smart Cycle, which offers unlimited support from dedicated fertility advocates and connection to the largest network of fertility specialists. Covered Salesforce employees can take advantage of three fully-covered Smart Cycles to explore egg freezing and frozen embryo transfer.
Thanks to Salesforce's Surrogacy and Adoption Benefits, one employee shared that she was able to use Progyny to legally adopt her daughter by hiring a family lawyer who seamlessly navigated the system and its paperwork. "As a non-birthing parent in a same-sex couple, knowing I have legal rights for my daughter is a small comfort, and understanding the fees were paid for made this an easy thing to do and welcome my daughter into the world.”
Maternity Doula
At Salesforce, elevating maternal health and providing equal access to care is a top priority. A maternity doula helps promote a positive pregnancy experience — before, during, and after birth, and in the early postpartum period.

“Having a birth and postpartum doula allowed me to take the time to focus on my little one and provided so much relief for my husband. We were able to have the birth we hoped for, while also feeling nurtured and loved postpartum when we didn't have family that was able to help us.” - Maria, Territory Account Executive, California
Our Maternity Doula Reimbursement provides doula support for employees in the U.S. and Canada to be reimbursed up to $2,000 USD, per pregnancy, for eligible doula-specific expenses.
Pregnancy + Parental Coaching
Parenting takes a village. Expand your personal village with our Cleo partnership which gives employees unlimited access to expert advice, resources, and a supportive community to parents of all backgrounds.
Salesforce employees working more than 20 hours a week can access three Cleo programs tailored to parents: Cleo Baby (pregnancy to baby's first year), Cleo Kids (ages 1 to 12), and Cleo Teens (ages 13 to 18).
“Cleo has been huge for our family by helping get both my children to sleep through the night (every night for ~12 hours), potty training, improving parental communication and learning/development suggestions for their individual growth.” - Stephen, Senior Success Architect, London
Post-Pregnancy
For milk-producing mothers, traveling can be a challenge. To better support working moms who are breast-feeding, we’ve partnered with Milk Stork to provide a free breast milk shipping service for Salesforce employees when traveling within the United States. Milk-producing surrogates can also use Milk Stork to ship breast milk to our employees’ location within the continental United States to support little one’s feeding needs.
“I had 4 large boxes of frozen milk to bring home after an extended stay in my hometown to help support my parents through some sickness. It was amazing to have Milkstork as a benefit. I easily packaged everything up, took some pictures for the memories, and my milk arrived home safe. I was able to maintain nursing my child for months whereas I would have lost all of it without the benefit.” - Christine, Portfolio Director, San Francisco
Back-Up Child Care
When it comes to child care, sometimes there are bumps in the road. If the usual care arrangement falls through, Salesforce’s Bright Horizons Back-up Care can lend a hand to U.S. and Canadian employees. Full-time and part-time (20 hours or more per week) employees can get 15 days of back-up care (center-based or in-home care) each calendar year. “Backup care is one of the best benefits,” one employee shared. “We use it every year. It takes stress of unexpected moments.”
Mental Wellbeing
Every new stage of life brings triumphs and challenges. While welcoming a child is filled with joy, it can also come with struggles like postpartum depression, relationship stress, and family anxieties. With the Salesforce Employee Assistance Program (EAP), employees don’t have to face it alone and have access to high-quality global mental health professionals through Lyra Health. Employees get up to 12 free in-person or virtual counseling visits fully covered each year.
For more support on their mental health journeys, employees can also take advantage of unlimited comprehensive wellbeing coaching sessions through Better Up.

“The parental benefits at Salesforce gave me and my family the gift of time, choice, and support. Compared to my previous pregnancies, where I had to save vacation days to extend my leave, this experience was completely different [in the best way]. I felt cared for, well-prepared, and supported in a way that every new parent deserves.”
- Tequila, Solution Architect, Houston
